Gospel-Centered

  •     Fusion of grace and truth, distinct in identity (in CHRIST) and healthy in theology (John 1:14; Colossians 2:1-8)
  •     Expository preaching and teaching of GOD’S Word without apology (Acts 20:24-27; 2 Timothy 4:1-5)
  •     24/7 making disciples of JESUS who, in turn, make disciples of JESUS (Matthew 28:18-20; 2 Timothy 2:2)

Reliant Prayer

  •     Power of prayer to accomplish what only GOD can do (John 15:5; Ephesians 3:19-21)
  •     Personal and collective engagement (Luke 11:1; Acts 2:42-47)
  •     24/7 first response with evidence of the miraculous and supernatural (Jeremiah 33:3; James 5:13-16)

Authentic Worship

  •     Sincere GOD-focused praise and worship, recognizing an Audience of ONE (Mark 7:6-7; John 4:23-24)
  •     Passionate, free, varied expression that draws attention to the LORD (Psalms 95:1-7; 1 Timothy 2:8)
  •     24/7 lifestyle promoting the SAVIOR, not self (Matthew 22:37-40; Romans 11:33-36)

Missional Movement

  •     Incarnational, relational, proclamational disciple-making among all people (Luke 4:18-19; 1 Corinthians 1:18-31)
  •     Equipping ministry committed to healthy growth (life-change), multiplication, and reproduction via church planting (Romans 12:1-11; Ephesians 4:11-16)
  •     24/7 organic, simplistic and wholistic Gospel ministry impact for GOD’S glory (Acts 4:32-37; Hebrews 4:12)

Reconciled Community

  •     Love, truth and sharing that reflects the likeness of CHRIST (2 Corinthians 12:5-7; Philippians 2:1-8)
  •     Gospel-driven integration—ethnically, socio-economically, generationally (2 Corinthians 5:17-21; Ephesians 2:11-18)
  •     24/7 engagement in the neighborhood as “salt and light,” bringing GOD’S “shalom” (Jeremiah 29:4-7; Matthew 5:13-16; Romans 14:17)

Church Planting Pastor

Tom Kubiak is native to the city of Chicago (Roseland on the South Side) and has a strong passion for ministry to the needs of urban dwellers.  While he was raised in Christian churches, there was a pivotal point in his youth when the SPIRIT of GOD made him keenly aware of his need to trust completely in the person and work of JESUS alone to make him right with GOD.  Tom realized his upbringing, religious knowledge and effort to live a decent life could never provide forgiveness or spiritual redemption.  So by the grace of GOD he crossed the line of faith and unreservedly believed in the sufficiency of CHRIST and began a life-long journey of learning in following JESUS.  His heart beats strongly for sound teaching of Holy Scripture, people living authentically in Christian community, equipping and empowering people to be on mission with GOD, shared leadership, genuine integration ethnically, socio-economically, and generationally, and having a meaningful GOD-honoring positive impact on the local neighborhood (parish model).

He and his wife, Joanna, have been married thirty-three (33) years and have three (3) adult children—all of whom graduated from Jones College Prep in Chicago’s South Loop, where Tom volunteered much time and energy on the LSC and Sports Booster Club for nine (9) years.  They also have three (3) grandchildren.  Tom is a fan of all Chicago sports teams (White Sox for baseball), is fond of 60s-70s muscle cars, and still enjoys softball, biking, weightlifting, or racquetball.

Tom has over thirty-four (34) years of pastoral ministry experience—having led two (2) churches through revitalization, having planted a new congregation on the near south side and having served as the first-ever executive director of a Christian para-church organization.  He loves his hometown of Chicago and has a vision to plant Gospel-centered, integrated, wholistic, local community churches throughout the far south side neighborhoods.  Tom has a Master of Divinity degree from Denver Baptist Theological Seminary and has done doctoral studies at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in Deerfield, IL.  He and Joanna desire to steward their spiritual gifts and experience in mentoring and empowering next-gen Christian leaders for Gospel ministry—impacting both stable and marginalized communities on the far south side.

For about eighteen (18) years, Tom has networked with the Christian Community Development Association (CCDA).  He is now also affiliating with Converge Mid-America, Neopolis Network, Mosaix and Chicago Partnership for Church Planting.  One of his favorite verses is Galatians 2:20 – “My old self has been crucified with CHRIST.  It is no longer I who live, but CHRIST lives in me.  So I live in this earthly body by trusting in the SON of GOD, who loved me and gave himself for me” (NLT).  Tom’s passion and experience is to serve as a catalyst for the ministry of reconciliation—both vertically and horizontally—in making disciples of JESUS CHRIST.
